LOL. I was just arguing with one now. He called me a "godless swine" so I've asked him how the pigs god created perfect, became unclean. I'm sure he will come up with some wonderful explanation other than that there was more than one god, and that they didn't all agree with each other.

Then again, if they had, would they tell the people, or would they simply remove those in power to a place of safety, to avoid mass panic? It's like that science fiction film I saw when I was a kid, and I can't remember what that was called. They built public shelters in Hyde Park.

If it was emitting only infra-red, they would need an infra-red telescope to see it, for example. You don't know what it would be emitting, so you would need a kind of mass-spectrometer telescope to see it. That's major scientific league, and I can't see anybody training Jodrell Bank on Comet Holmes.

I admit I did a cut and paste job, and I also admit that the name was chosen to sort of tell some Americans that they may be a bunch of arrogant female genitals, but I can still play the arrogant male genitals, with the inevitable result that they will be "going down". "With them or against them"? They need slapping down good. The subtle symbolism is usually lost on them though :-)
