Still the discrimination is a survivor too. In the hearts of many. Parents deny their kids love before they come out because they know and do not accept life that way. You are one of many who came out and are happy with it. There are many who came out and are sad with it. There are all types due to stereotypes, time frames and so much more we tell people to be. Good luck to you rugby player.

I think labeling people as 'gay' is also a discreet and overlooked form of homophobia, they're human beings just like everyone else, it's 'cause most people feel the need to label gay people as 'gay' so they're more comfortable with their own sexuality, I'm straight but I don't label people as gay, they're human beings regardless of their sexual orientation.

You did NOT ruin your wife's life. She had the opportunity to be with a kind, compassionate, honest, humble man....and for that she can only be thankful. Better than most women will ever find in their lives.

Seeing Gareth Thomas on this clip blew my mind. I have never seen a man with so much elegance, beauty, and grace. Not only is he inspiring, but he's also courageous. I am deeply moved by this. He has truly broken all boundaries, stereotypes, walls, chains, and cages that we as a people have confined ourselves to. I couldn't help, but to smile as he filled my heart and soul up with warmth. Anyone who has had the honor of meeting you in person is very blessed. Thank you, Gareth Thomas!!!

@tetsuan25 Better is relative and rightly so. It can get better if you let it. It only stays the same when you just cant let go. You cant change how the world reacts to you...the only power you have is over how you react to it!

@RonBurgundy161 Narcissism
This is how homophobia affects straight people too. Homophobia isnt just about Gay bashing, its a father who cant hug his son... a mother who is afraid of smothering her boy... a straight man who wants to pursue a stereotypically feminine occupation but cant... and gay men who are socially pressured to lead heterosexual lifestyle, and develope false relationships with women. But keep in mind, the women who complain about this, are often times teaching their sons to do it, ironic

That announcement was more important than all the rugby games Gareth has ever played. What a gutsy guy. What an inspiration. You're saving lives here, Gareth. Way to go!
