@TRINZINI: After the opening credits there's no music for about 20 minutes; there's no music when they're on the ship looking for Fay Wray after she was kidnapped; there's also no music during the airplane attack. Max Steiner knew instinctively how to score a film, and KING KONG is a perfect example of that. The film runs 104 minutes of which music covers about 75 min. That's not "omnipresent".

Anyone ever noticed that this is the one part in the movie where Max Steiner's omnipresent musical score (thankfully) stops completely ? (The absence of music totally increases the impact of this magnificient scene ... and what incredible sound effects !!)

LOL, PJ's movie blows when compared to this-72 years later and with all the new technology he managed to screw his movie up, Kong was a Monster-not a silverback gorilla
