@SCM11478 Not a Chouest boat. The Europeans use the same color scheme as Chouest does. Chouest only uses Rolls Royce enclosed winches as well.

OH THIS HAS GOT TO be a Edison Chouess boat.. That ugly orange.. I ran anchors one day before a Tropical Storm hit.. an we got four up.. Four were still out when the storm hit, so our tug HAD to stay on site, in the deep ocean far out from usual.. an 'ride the storm out' with our tow line on the rig, cuz apparently four lines instead of 8 anchors... only 4 apparently wouldnt have 'held it fast'.

No, the PCP is connected to the AHV's chase wire (work wire). The PCP is approximately 30 meters.

Good question, but 2 3/4" chain and wire + anchor double bight weighs maximum 200 T, 1 bight hanging from the rig, 1 bight hanger under the stern of the anchorhandler + additional bollardpull of the vessel = maximum 250 T on the sternroller of the vessel. These kind of ships can take upto total abt. 2000 T cargo (liquid cargo in mud / fuel / drillwater tanks and deckcargo), sufficient buoyancy, BRGDS OWR.

you mean the pick was at 1700m, surely the chaser wire wasn't that long.

Hello of Hallo, the waterdepth was about 1350 meter and the chaserwires in use were 2 length's on one drum 900 meter directly on the drum and on the other drum an 800 meter with 2 hardeyes both sides connected to the workwire. Bluster is 20 years old, Newer AHTs are having winches with more capacity for wire storage. All the best and best regards, oceanwindrider
