@999sherwin I'm not familiar with laser diodes, but you are going to need a resistor no matter what, but if you want you can still try it without a resistor and see what happens. It's all a learning experience :P

@9011sherwin No, you need resistors so the LEDs don't burn out. Without them your LEDs will last 3 seconds

@9011sherwin You can easily find resistors at Radioshack for really cheap (50 cents)
