Riding and R1 on the Altoplano in Boliva is very hard for the rider and the bike. But I remember also the nice part of it when I was on the the salt flat Uyuni in June 2003

no food or water with him bullshit ! , whos making the videos when hes riding towards u , or away , or the long distance shots , most riders could do this with
sponsorship money and a camera crew with them , and when he is on his own the support vehicle wont be far away !!

that man has balls the size of a space hopper, probably the best advert for Yamaha, this on a R1 puts our Bavarian friends to shame
-
Conti road tires in sand? I don't doubt the bike easily made it but I'd have definitely fitted some dual-sport rubber to it or something... eep.

@stevoo300 I agree with you mate. The R1 is dependable and a blast to ride if you respect its power. I salute Nick for taking it around the world.

He's as amd as a bag of piss but he's a legend all the same.
-
did he ge paid by Yamaha?
why an R1, great bike but you are bent over and its not that comfortable for long rides
-
he's been around the world like 7 times now, on old enfields and stuff.
-
hmm that is a mission to take r1 in that condition
I bet you had no idea that the road is so bad
but from other side its a good ^ road ^ test

Amazing man,amazing country!!!!!!!!
wow thats crazy but im sure he has a support van following him man all that sand makes me cringe when i think about working on it and the sand acting as a blender for the parts poor R1.....after all that i would just swap the chain and sprockets cause jeez all that wear cant be good for it

He doesn't have a support van but he does meet up with people as he goes round. The majority of the trip is done on his own though.
