In this day and age, the Smothers Brothers were one of the few on air hosts with the courage to book serious rock bands, including psychedelic rock bands, and defy the constant Network pressure on them to conform. In the end their independence cost them a network hit show in a choice time slot, but earned them the undying respect of millions of young people.

Does anyone remember the diary 'Go Ask Alice' by Anonymous, named after the song 'White Rabbit', and the 1973 made-for-TV movie by the same name (3ZYm4J4imAI) that was based on the diary and which featured the song (which of course is based on Alice in Wonderland)? Does anyone remember that the father was played by William Shatner, and the priest by Andy Griffith? I remember the diary and the movie (both great), but I don't remember any of the actors. I feel overwhelmed by nostalgia right now!
