The Iraqi journalist who shot to fame for hurling his shoes at former US president George W. Bush was jailed for three years on Thursday, stirring outrage from his family and supporters.
In prison he will be a hero. An American writer once wrote on such incidents. He was asked what he was doing in jail. His reply was "What are you doing out there?" That man may be in a physical prison but Bush and his Cronies have made the whole world a prison of fear.
At the very most he should get a common assault conviction. Maybe a 100 dollar fine and probation to keep the peace for two years. That is what would happen if he threw a shoe at me or you. But the Joo-nat-z's love to abuse their authority and power.
