Tom Davenport's 1940s WW II version of Cinderella. Part of the FROM THE BROTHERS GRIMM series of live-action, American versions of classic folktales from www.davenportfilms.com. Also on youtube are previews for Soldier Jack, Bearskin, and Hansel and Gretel.

omg I have been looking for these stories for years! I only remembered watching them in the 4th or 5th grade. Does any1 remember the one where the man cant die because a bag is hanging in a tree?

I almost said "b-but they spoiled the ending!" And then I remembered it 's CInderella.
These movies are excellent. Look for them at your library. Even if they don't have them, they can probably order them from another library.

Ashpet actually is an American version of the Cinderella story. It's the version from the Appalachin mountains. The hill folk have had their own versions of European folk tales they brought over for ages. The most fampous are their Jack Tales.
