  • Just so you know, the photo at 3:14 is almost certainly not KWC. I count at least 16 stories in that building, and the Walled City never got any higher than 14 stories due to the proximity of Kai Tak airport.

  • I think that you are correct. I remember reading about the height limit construction restriction, due to the airport. I got the photos from a Japanese website which was linked on the SkyscraperCity forum page for KWC. Hmm... Well, considering how modernized Hong Kong is becoming, whichever building is shown at 3:14, probably will be gone soon too, if not already. Hopefully at least the Chungking Mansions will remain.

  • Amazing. I'm speechless. .

  • If Kowloon Walled City was still there, I'd be on the next plane from Chicago to Hong Kong. The place is so beautiful, in a very unique and historical way. The lives that were there, all of the moments spent and shared, the times of love and hate, all existing in that amazing metropolis of devoted souls. Physically gone, yes, but the very spirit of Kowloon Walled City lives on through memories and photos.

Not to blow off your dream. Kowloon Walled City is a very disgusting place. Why would you want to go in and visit a disgusting place.

  • @Civsuccess2

It is for the historic value, I suppose. The architecture, the lives lived there, the experience of it, etc. I'm not a very love life, type of person. Although, I do appreciate adventures, and the experience of learning. Visiting KWC, would be an honorable experience spent shared with the people who lived there.

  • @SniperViper1000 what are you?

  • @kalalachu it's in the main entrance area of the park/gardens that now occupy the site. I made a short video of the model when I was there last year

  • @SniperViper1000 Are you talking about Gunkanjima?

  • I would, as well visited Kowloon if it stood stand. I'm sure it smelled bad because of the excess dirty dripping water, old clothes, un-clean people, and unsanitary shop; but I would love to see it for historical, and experienced reasonings.

  • @ArtisynSaffryn The place at 3:14 is actually at Hashinma? Island in Japan.

  • oh I do now sniper it took me awhile but poverty has followed me since my first breath now I embrace it with honour not pride but humility is what poverty has tuoght me a well lesson to share my life and never give up

  • Yeah use music from Shenmue.lolz

  • @petragurney It's called people earning wealth with hardwork. Something known as Capitalism. DEAL WITH IT!
