I found that this video was introduced at Taiwan internet forum.
Someone there says that this is not trusted because of slide of still pictures. Especially he did not seem to be able to believe the PHILIPS's brightness.
But all pictures used in this slide were taken at the same exposure EV2. Brightness, contrast, color and etc were not edited at all.
I can show the original pictures which are stored at another internet data warehouse.
The video with no exposure information and no comparison targets, is less useful for reference of real brightness than the pictures with exposure information and comparison targets. The most bright and broad light in the three is definitely PHILIPS, I must say.

(Original)
This is comparison between all-in-one lights which meet StVZO. PHILIPS LED Bike Light(LBL) and ROXIM RX5 use 4AA and LS950 uses internal Li-Ion battery.
DOSUN D1 is not all-in-one light, but for reference of illumination pattern and brightness(500lm).

  • Cool vid. My only question is how were you getting the bikes shadow from lights on the handlebar???

  • There is a weak street light behind the bike.

So when using light which can lit not only far ground but also the ground near the bike, a shadow which is made by that weak street light is seen.

  • BIG BANG's light color is surely more blueish than other lights.

But it throws much far than others and near illumination is not too bright.

As a result, you can see very large area uniformly.

Negative points I should say are below.

It has no function to control light strength,so it can be used by only 100% output or 0%.

It's ignitor life is claimed as about 1000h by manufacturer.

It's Owner must pay EUR150 to replace the ignitor every 1000h.

  • LS950, PHILIPS and RX5 are the same price range. I bought them by about $100 or so.And all in one and the same level of size and weight. D1 was added for comparison.

These lights are all StVZO aproved. So the vertical adjustment is very sensitive for illumination of ground, I know.

I adjusted them so that their cut-off line height became the same level.

Do you see the cut-off line on the wall of hat?

RX5 may be a bit higher.

  • You should told me where you bought it. The lowest prices (not included shipping) I found for those lights are: LS950 & Philips LBL EUR99.90, RX5: EUR 54.60, Dosun D1: EUR230.

  • @abyer970

The price at the shop I bought them presents cheaper prices than those for LS950 and LBL at least. You can easily find it by Google search.

If you do not live in EU, prices will be cheaper more because VAT is excluded.

  • nice beamshots, I also saw them on swhs home xs4all nl. Are you as negative as that guy is, on the big bang in general terms?

  • Why choosed lights with such big price different? There are one LED, two LEDs and four LEDs among the lights to be compared. The vertical aim position of lights seems not same which may affects the brightness on the ground. Lower aim is brighter than higher aim.
