This is a better recording of the first song I posted.
I hope you like it

Mother, mother ocean, I have heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you switch from sails to steam
And in your belly you hold the treasures few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes I am a pirate, two hundred years too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an under-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late
I've done a bit of smugglin', I've run my share of grass
I made enough money to buy Miami, but I pissed it away so fast
Never meant to last, never meant to last
And I have been drunk now for over two weeks
I passed out and I rallied and I sprung a few leaks
But I got stop wishin', got to go fishin'
Down to rock bottom again
Just a few friends, just a few friends

  • You forgot a few lyrics...." Now i go for younger women , lived with several a while, and though i ran away , they come back one day and can still manage a smile....." and " Mother mother ocean , after all the years i found..... "

    Still very nicely done

  • @MrPhilly76er I didn't forget them.....I didn't know them. I took my version from Jack Johnson, who also likes Jimmy.

Since recording this I have learnt sing the whole song...and love it.

I sing it on the street regularly and everbody loves it...it's a great tune, although soon I will have to change the lyrics to " I'm an over fourty victim of fate"....but not too soon. Thankyou for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • This is one of my favorite Jimmy songs. I grew up on bologna sandwiches and Jimmy Buffett. :) It's about my dad, this song is. It's the best.

You do it very well. :D

  • Hey Ashley, sorry I missed this comment.

    Thanks for making it, Jonathan
