Come with us on a tour of the research and opinion center at the Corningware Factory! It's fabulous 1950's sexism at its best, as Chet tells us all about their remarkable space age research with the American housewife (i.e. Cheap Slave Labor!) Mock along with us as we go on a whirlwind journey of scientists, percolators, and Chet's magical rocket.

  • Gee; feel like a victim of sexism much? They didn't have to include women in their product development, you know. If I didn't see it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed that a woman would still be so touchy about a business program from 50 years ago. Corningware was and still is a fantastic product, and that's why I searched for videos about it. What I found instead was a video the was used by a bitter woman to mock men and business because she apparently feels inadequate.

  • @aivilik Um, aivilik, it's a joke. I didn't perceive sexism in this video. (Except for that line about the wife not being logical - that was pretty sexist.) Do I think it's sexist that a business reaches out to the prime consumer of their products, who just so happens to be female? No. That's capitalism at work! (Which I think is a beautiful thing.) Corningware sure wasn't offended by my video - they liked it! It's just meant to be funny! BTW, the original video is available at Archive.org.

  • I love my corningware percolators, one for the range, one an electric. And I also have a clear glass pyrex one. They all make delicious coffee, and by perking it at least 10 minutes it kills off the live yeast that is in all coffees, and people like me who can not tolerate much yeast, or vinegars, CAN DRINK THIS COFFEE to their hearts delight!! Any coffee bean will do, but I prefer the original COLOMBIAN beans!!

  • @SugarSugarx2 I don't drink coffee, but I do love pyrex in general. It's the absolute best material to bake brownies in - perfectly crisp on the outside, all nice and gooey on the inside! Throw some marshmallows on top in the last few minutes of baking and oooooh... yummy! I'm glad to hear you've found a way to drink coffee, though!

  • Could you upload the original video without the subtitles?

  • OMG I almost wet my pants watching this! What a hysterical video! Where on earth did you find this film? All kidding aside, the original Corningware was a miracle product and was used in ballistic missile cones. (Chet's is so big!). Glad they just re-introduced some of the real pyroceram product in 2010 after a brief hiatus in the US. (Some newer 'Corningware' is cheap white stoneware, and is inferior to the pyroceram version and can crack with temp changes. So housewives beware.... - Chet)
