'The Curse of Frankenstein' (1957) is the first in Hammer Film Production's 'Frankenstein' series. An adaption of Mary Shelley's classic novel 'Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus' which she wrote at only nineteen in 1831. It is the first time horror legends Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing co-starred in a Hammer Production. The film was directed by the great Terence Fisher.
'The Curse of Frankenstein' is a very loose adaption of the classic tale. Taking many liberties with the source material. Peter Cushing plays a memorable role as Victor Frankenstein. And Robert Urquhart plays his tutor and later unwilling assistent Paul Krempe. Together they try to revive dead tissue. When they finally succeed in bringing a dead puppy back to life Victor decides to go one step further. He wishes to bring a constructed creature to life. Krempe refuses to help Victor, who goes on a hunt for body parts. Finally Victor Frankenstein has assembled his creation and is ready to give it (Christopher Lee) life.
Like 'The Horror of Dracula' this film stands out as one of the best horror films ever made. With great performances from all actors, especially from the two leads. The music I used for the video comes from Danny Elfman's album Serenada Schizophrana, the piece is called 'Piano'.
'Serenada Schizophrana' belongs to Sony BMG Masterworks. 'The Curse of Frankenstein' belongs to Warner Bros.
James Bernard's music is better than (the overrated) Danny Elfman's musical pieces anyway so I don't get the point of this. No offense. Just seems a bit insulting to James Bernard who is a better composer.

@HimWotMustBeObeyed I understand your opinion, and I'd like to assure that I'm not trying to insult James Bernard. His music has always been one of the key elements of Hammer's succes. But for this video I needed a faster paced piece of music. With Elfman's music I could tell the story of 'The Curse of Frankenstein' in a dramatic way that wouldn't be possible with Bernard's score. I was not trying to offend James Bernard or his fans.
