I'll never forget the words of a North supporter, "He was my favourite non-North player to watch. He was much harder and tougher than anyone else around, but had the skills of a rover"
When I was lucky enough to meet KM in the early 2000's at a Brisbane Lions function, I said to him "Mr Murray, it's an honour to meet you". In response, he smiled at me, he shook my hand and took off his Brownlow and placed it around my neck.
I shed a tear in happiness. He's one of the true legends of our game.

I remember watching Kevin Murray playing for East Perth - I team I disliked - He was an absolute battler - coundn't kick too well but was inspirational, particularly when playing for the west.
