Well, after debating whether or not to update since i spent 2 hours downgrading back to 3.2 a while ago, i finally decided to update since i really want this feature. So, i made a video showing what it does. Along with the new SD Card Menu, you can also download games from the Wii Shop Channel directly to an SD Card.

I was mostly just trying to compare load times between NES, SNES, N64, and WiiWare Games and then see how they played. It works really well i was impressed.

Here is the list of changes (From Nintendo.com/wii/menuupdate)

* Store more—Add more Wii storage using SD Cards or the high capacity SDHC Card format (up to 32GB)

* Improved SD Card support—launch WiiWare™ titles, Virtual Console™ games, or channels directly from an SD/SDHC Card

* Let your Wii console move games and channels to an SD/SDHC Card with Auto Manage when system memory fills up

* Download titles from the Wii Shop Channel to Wii system memory or directly to an SD/SDHC Card

  • I am going out to buy an sd card tomorrow, I have my wii updated to 4.3u. Does anybody know a good compatible sd card that is above 2gig that will work for it? Will something like an 8gig sandisk work, that is what I was thinking of trying but now I'm not 100% sure if it will work. Confirmation would be great

  • @JordanMeAwesome: Anything up to 32GB's should work.

  • @capoland I'm getting a SanDisk 32GB SDHC card (Class 4) It is kind of expensive but should work right?

  • @JordanMeAwesome: Yep, it should. Here, read this. It's straight from Nintendo's support website:

"If you have updated your Wii console to Wii Menu 4.0 or higher, then your Wii console is compatible with SD Cards that are 2 GB (Gigabyte) or less, and is also compatible with SDHC Cards up to 32 GB. SD Cards with a capacity higher than 2 GB, and SDHC Cards with a capacity higher than 32 GB, will likely not work with the Wii console."
