Such a shame the event was ruined by Wallasey Motor Club, they started charging people to walk along a public pavement. Their greed led to a sudden decline of visitors. Thousands went when it was free and bought lots from trade stands. WMC has now destroyed all that and raised entry fees for drivers as they must be in financial trouble. No one goes now, I think it was a max of 30 people watching in 2009. How one club's greed can destroy an event. Local tv/radio/press will not advertise it.
Wasn't at the 2009 event although Grandson entered again but bent the car on the second stage.
Usually enjoyed the event.
Insurance, health & safety, politically correct do-gooders are more to blame - as clubs are trying to cover exorbitant costs and put on a good event.
Thanks for the comments
