Last railfanning day of 2010 for me. Spent an incredible day on the Sanford Sub with Dennis. Learned a lot about Orlando railroading.

  • Hey Danny, great video. In 2002 (I think) I visited the Church Street station. It was cool to catch amtrak trains going through. Have you heard about the Sunrail system that might start up soon?

  • @trainguy2020 Sunrail is going forward. Contracts for locomotives have already been let. Design work for stations is in progress. The next few years should be interesting.

  • WOW! Did anyone but me see the ex Amtrak Mail and Express boxcars on Q455??

  • @ravenhawk6910 Yeah, those things are fairly common on 455 & 456. I don't know who gets 'em in the Orlando area, but I've seen them often.

  • As usual, a big fat thumbs UPPPPPP! Nice job Danny. But what moron gave it a thumbs down? Don't they know excellence when they see it? And hear it?

  • @jjbroadglide I think it was actually me, John. I went to hit REPLY to one of the comments and accidentally hit the THUMBS DOWN button. Oh well. Not everyone likes everything. :-))

  • @distantsignal ya they took out duke already

  • I've got some bad and good news. Bad news is the steam engine and cars there are no longer there anymore. Good news is that they will be at another museum, but it will be some time before I get use to not seeing it anymore. :(

  • what channel do you use for the scanner in longwood?

  • I love railranning out in Mullberry, CSX got a nice yard there serving the Bone Vallley Industries

  • @ElKabong75, Oooooh Ok, I always see that line when I come down there, and wondered where it went, I didn't know if it connected to the A line that runs through Tally, I know the A line paralles US 90 on through Pensacola. I live in the fork of the GF&A line, on the westside of Tally.

  • @soulfultenor The 441 line you mentioned connects to the A-line near the old Orlando Arena in the area of Robinson, Hughey & Garland. It continues north thru Plymouth (where the Florida Central Railroad has its HQ and the train at 1:45 in the video), and keeps on going rounding thru Tavares where there is a segment of street running, and continues into Mt. Dora. There was a dinner train there for a while. The route goes east but ends near a paved over crossing on SR 46.

  • Thanks again for visiting my home base! Next time you venture to O-town, you should give us advance warning so we can come bearing $20s to buy some of your DVDs!

  • Danny, I was just in Orlando, for the 4th I was downtown @ lake Eola, I did see the Church St. Station and Duke of coarse, what is the line the paralles US 441 N ? this is the route I take when I travel down there. Also there is a line that used to run with 27 south through Perry, FL.
