  • i go here , its now called Hull Collegiate School

  • Video O.K.

    Commentary rubbish.

Tranby Croft is in Anlaby, not Hull.

It was indeed about a local influential family ( Hence Wilson Street in Anlaby )

Why was there no comment about the famous Royal scandal that took place in this house - the" Baccarat Scandal " involving the future King Edward V11?

I guess the researchers who wrote the script could not be bothered to make it interesting.

  • I was angry enough at this ignorant and inaccurate commentary to bother to register to comment - have the BFI seriously employed this woman, are they endorsing this??

  • It is a sad day. "i go 2 this skool" I bet the poor teachers are turning in their graves. What a thicko.

  • i go 2 this skool

  • intriguing film, thank you. it is spoilt by the dreary commentator and her factually inaccurate and decontextualised wittering

  • Oh dear, intolerence strikes its head again, Sorry mate we pronounce it differently in England. get it? oxenfoord

  • The commentator would do well to learn how to pronounce 'Lieutenant'. It isn't 'lootenant' as there were no loos to have a lease on in the Army. It should be pronounced in the normal way, 'leftenant'. Clearly, she watches too many cowboy films.

  • I go to school here! The Wilson's home (Tranby Croft) is now the site of Hull Collegiate School, formed with the merger of Hull Grammar School and Hull High School. Beautiful building :) the little alcoves in front of the house (where the plants are) are where I used to sit and read books as a kid!

  • FANTASTIC - More of this history please
