Rowell Rodeo Caught Shocking Horses

On May 17th and 18th, 2008, SHARK Investigators documented horses being shocked with 5,000 volts of painful electricity at the Rowell Ranch Rodeo near Castro Valley, CA. This is in direct violation of California State Law AND the Hayward Area Recreation & Park District rules. Even the Hotshot manufacturer says their prods should NEVER be used on horses. The rodeo will claim that these horses had to be shocked because they pose some type of vague danger to the cowboy and the spectators. Watch for yourself and decide how dangerous these horses look or if these calm horses were shocked simply to make them buck.

@mrsbuffalochick We go to rodeos to document and expose the abuse. It's right there on the videos.

why do you bother going to rodeos if you dont like whats involved? i raise stock and they are not abused they are apart of the family and are treated better than most people.

I am a strong supporter of the Rowell Ranch and do the ranch a favor and talk to the commitee instead of posting a video about it. It shows weakness in you, none of us asked to see this video and I believe it was rude to post and I would hope you have permission to use these clips of the rodeo... Please just don't go to rodeos if you don't want to see it.

@SHARKonlineorg I don't know how old you are, but you need grow up and stop calling people names. your making people against animal "abuse" look stupid. So I would just knock it off. OR! I could tell the Rowell Ranch you are video taping their rodeo and putting it on youtube without permission. :)

@qhchamp85 Those involved in the rodeo are well aware of this video. If they don't like it, they'd better clean up their act, or there will be more videos up exposing Rowell abuse.
