  • @ellis12241 There's a very easy way to make sure, the strings do not tune down while playing: Just tune them up about 1,5 weeks before the concert, so they can "get used" to be tuned up -> they stay at the frequency

  • @DannyOcean39 I agree with it destroying the piece for the tuning break, but it's necessary because the instrument isn't used to having the strings tuned up a whole step, making them go out of tune very easily. Just so you know. Plus, there is so much bowing to be done in the first movement, the strings go way flat from all the playing. (I am learning this piece, and found this out. Also that it's a bitch of a piece) haha.

  • 6 people don't understand why someone would tune when they're out of tune. like that makes any sense.

  • @DannyOcean39

    you're quite right...

and he's doing it soo loudly....

  • Very good bassplayer, but why is he tuning up again??? That destroys the whole peace!

  • @supersammie89 The answer is to get out of bed and practice :)

That and lots of hallucinogenic drugs ;)

  • I lie in bed for hours thinking how can I be like this guy

  • This recording is phenomenal! The overall intonation is superb, especially during the double stop section. Playing this piece has taught me its harder than it looks haha. More than the intonation though is the just the overall tempo and mood of the movement. he definitely nailed what it's supposed to feel like. I hope I can play it like he did.

  • The shifting at 2:50 is a little rough, but over all, the best recording of this concerto. Very musical and lyrical. This concerto is often deceptively easy when new player perform it, and they often make it sound like an étude, and not a lyrical concerto. This movement is the hardest to perfect and not make it sound that way.

  • Nice! do you guys use tuners in the orchestra? because I think there's one flute slightly out. Great performance.
