Noadi's Art - http://noadi.net
Quick little video of the Geisha Fairy I created last year as a commission. It was a lot of fun and I've been assured that she is loved in her new home.
She's 12 inches tall and sculpted primarily in gray super sculpey and painted. She has glass beads and little cherry blossoms in her hair made of cold porcelain.

  • so you can apply fresh cold porcelain over the dried up, hardened one??

  • Yes, you can. The cold porcelain I use contains PVA glue (white glue like Elmer's) so to apply fresh cold porcelain over dried I just bruch a little PVA glue over the area I want to add cold porcelain to and it sticks no problem.

You can't add cold porcelain over polymer clay, it just won't stick. Instead you have to glue cold porcelain pieces to polymer clay after both have cured.

  • but do you have to hold on to ir for a while, while it sticks? or if it falls off, it's a sign that there was too much glue?

Sorry for all the questions, I love creating new things, such as sculptures, jewelry, etc, so I am always thrilled to try new things. I have done a couple of cold porcelain figurines but i worked on it as fast as i could before it dried up ^_^ imagine how I looked just desperately rushing and freaking out when it started to dry out in some parts...

  • If it slips right off you're using too much glue, you should use only enough to make the area a little tacky. If you want to keep the cold porcelain from drying out too much get a little mister spray bottle and spritz the cold porcelain with water every once in a while, and wrap areas you aren't working on with damp paper towel.

Don't worry about it, everyone started out as a begginer at some time. I'm always happy to help anyone starting out.

  • How long did this take? And do you use acrylic paint? Very beautiful....you are very talented! Thank you for sharing!!!

  • I think it took around 35 or so hours spread out over a month. Most of is it painted in acrylic paint but the base is decoupaged with chiyogami paper. I also used pearl ex powders mixed with clear acrylic medium so add iridescent accents to the hair, lips, eyes, and the butterflies on the kimono.
