McDonald street disaster - Fallen tree

On March 13, 2010 tragedy fell on McDonald Street. Heavy wind and rain roared through the city causing a power outage in that section of the Bronx. In the darkness of the night, a young couple was parking their vehicle, when a ferocious gust of wind brought down an old tree, nearly crushing them to death. Luckily, they escaped with minor injuries. Courageous neighbors ran out to their rescue. Minutes later, a young woman nearly drove to her death when she crashed into the fallen tree. Again, courageous neighbors of McDonald Street helped the young woman out of her vehicle. Frantic, she escaped with minor injuries. Another courageous neighbor of McDonald St offered warm hospitality until the ambulance arrived.
