OK, he (Edarem) said waterproof, but maybe rustproof is more correct.
I am not sure what you mean by "damp course in a house", but if its plastic foil inside the house, its to avoid damp from inside condensing in the wall when cold season (I live in Norway, you know polarbear, snow 6 months....).
Rustproofing simple cheap iron/metal with a environmental friendly cementwash.
The cement cost next to nothing, even on a tinroof like he talks abous, you need very little.

If cement was waterproof, there'd be no need to put a damp course in a house.
If you want a vapour permeable but waterproof layer from a building yard, look for SBR (sytrene butadiene resin). It comes in 2.5 and 5l plastic jerry cans like PVA, it's even the same colour. Paint it on, done.

edarem, i love your videos. Some of them have some very useful tips. All of them help the frowns, and boredom, go away.
I love Lady, she was sooo cute in the backscratcher video. What breed is she?
