At about 17 minutes you talk about how people in the still world won't understand the "we shoot everything manual". The only thing an experienced photographer will keep on auto is perhaps the focus but even that is only auto when the subject is too quick to focus on by hand. Definitely in both fields you get to a level where you realize the camera just doesn't do anything well for you by itself.

@CLASSICMONSTERGUY95 Check out how much you can get a Canon t2i (or Canon 55D if your in Europe) for and try and buy one, even if you have to save up a bit more, it most definitely worth it! If you cannot afford that much, then take a look into Panasonic's Lumix G range... i'm pretty sure you can get a Lumix G2 for under £300 nowadays, which i have used for numerous films, and now use as a "Behind the Scenes" camera. Hope this helps!

Hi there
Just a quick question. I have made films before with my friends (no I am not a professional) with a JVC Everio Camcorder, but I have heard of DSLR cameras, now I do have a budget (under £300) so what is the best for filmmaking?
Thanks

@ConnorSelby I have this lens on FF w/ 5dmii. Great stuff. Hate dealing with low light, but amazing L series w/ IS, USM.

9:41!!! Really surprised that he didn't go 7d. I got 5dmii cuz I wanted full frame, but good to know that Bloom prefers 5dmii over 7d for vid.

@StolenLettuce lol, hey who cares how professional one looks like. As long as the final product is good it doesn't matter if you look like a film maker or not.
