@13SuperKings just my opinion on this, because of my personal experience with my parents...With my dad oralism just didn't work, I'm talking about they even lit a candle to have him practice the letter P, it should effect the flame on the candle. On the other hand, it worked wonders for my mom (I thought she could speak very well, but of course I was used to her voice) Luckily, they both learned ASL and it was passed down to me. So I can see both sides of this, but love your comment....
This is funny! I grew up with interpreters, you guys seem to have it all figured out. What NOT to do as an interpreter! It is interesting to watch interpreters and how they don't take into consideration some of these simple things. There is no reason deaf people should be treated different than hearing individuals; bringing up the point of interpreters taking control of a conversation or situation. Would you say most people communicate these issues or is it just to be known by interpreters?
