So beautiful and sonorous. He has many 'weird' quirks watching him play and I love it. Adds a lot of personal touch to his playing. I would love to hear the rest of this sometime. What a sound.

I would have to say - as a professional hornist - one who has played this many times - that this is probably the best modern recording of this piece. Although it is on Europa-TV - it is the best sound and clarity that I have ever heard. I've heard it played live with Tuckwell, Clevenger, and others - but nothing like this. Ruske is a wanna-be as far as I feel. I've known Erik for over 34+ years - and he is an amazing instructor and orchestral hornist, but NOT soloist.

Does anyone know what exact model of Paxman he plays? I know it's an M20, but what about throat size (M,L,A,E) and yellow or gold brass?
