hahahah.... your bow is beautifull, I am working on a horn bow, but didn´t finished it until now!
-
@yokhua That bow is priceless. Lots of respect to it's craftsman. If you made me one how much would it cost and roughly what would the draw weight be?
-
@zakdaman8 LOL, westerners teaching archery to an asian :D
On topic, I realy like how u manage to put torque on that left hand. I for one try to do it more smoothly but it's not that efficient as yours seems to be.
Congrats for the bow as well, though it looks like a laminated samick korean :D

hi wonder if you can help, when i tried to use horn thumbring on my bow( i am a complete begginer to this archery style) when i try to draw the arrow back it wants to slip off my hand thats holding the bow and point at almost 45 degrees away from the target.it just doesnt want to stay straight!!! i am right handed but it happens wither i knock the arrow on the left or right side of the grip

@TheMHandDSfan i didnt say its ottoman bow i said it seems like:)) but true its more curvy and shorter. And ofcourse ottoman bow has been created from oghuz and the other turkic bows like uygur or scythian.
-
@odinese nah ottoman bows aren't as curvy i don't think pretty sure ottoman bows look more like scythian ones :D
-

@yokhua and european archey draws . umm they just draw straight back..
That's a beautiful bow! Can you tell me who made that bow, and what type of bow it is? It looks like a crimean tatar bow.

Ha! I made this bow, it's a horn bow. Made from two water buffalo horns, moose sinew, fish bladder glue and maple wood.... Takes 18 months to finish..

dude if you draw the string with your right hand the arrow is suposed to be on the left of the bow
zakdaman8 3 years ago
Drawing the string by using thumb,so then the arrow must put on the right side. this is "Asian archery" or "Mongolian archery".. And if draw the string by using three fingers, place the arrow on the left side. It is "Archer's paradox"... Read some books OK!!

My instructor told me never to draw from up to down because you can accidentaly shoot it off early
lifescomicrelief 3 years ago
well! that depend on who is your instructor?? Japanese Yumi draw from up, Korean traditional archery draw from up, Chinese traditionally draw from up.... What do you think?? If I told you never draw from down to up because you can accidentaly shoot on your feet... AUCH!!
