I had a VERY OBE many years ago in a period i had borrowed Journeys Out of the Body from the library and had been reading it. I have a video where I talk about it.
The trouble I have with this explanation here. It dismisses the body, and calls earth boring. That is NOT what I encourage. Indigenous cultures and Goddess cultures understand these states but ALSo see the body and nature as sacred, NOT to be dissociated from and called "boring". I wonder how many Moreists have had psychedelic experie
Anybody interested in one's both-ends of an arc-through-time-spacetime (1734 to 1983/4 (as best one can place the more recent end, currently, as one writes & recalls.)) From one's previous-to-this incarnation, (Deathbed scenario, (Alexander Pope) in company, at home at His Grotto; ) (See witness accounts as per one Biography I read .) & This current incarnation, as one writes. About-Which to quote my own Mother, V M Pope W.R.N.S. " There is a connection."
Perhaps we also have a HABIT of having a personal consciousness, of being an individual? Rupert Sheldrake, the Cambridge biologist famous for his concept of morphic fields, seems to indicate that we carry so much personal memory in our field that we think we're an individual.

Have you ever heard of Allan Kardec? I think you'd profit very much from reading the books this man codified. :-)
