I feel that "teddy bears" is like a euphemism for real animals.
You may think, "why make a fuss? just enjoy a nice song, intended to keep children amused".
But I see much more in it than just that.
It is sung with genius! and it depicts the ideal bliss how we should feel in our lives, in spite of all the stresses.

I've always interpretted it differently. I think there is something nefarious and dark about this song.
I haven't yet figured what it is that disturbs me or what imagery it begins to form in my mind... but when it comes to me i'll be sure to pass it on ;)
haha (seriously it creeps me out and always has)

This record has another reason for it's fame in that it was a used as ' the ' standard to check on the reproducing qualities of the contemporary gramophones, radiograms etc. When you realise it is neally 78 ( no pun intended ! ), it is a truly remarkable high frequency range recording.

This song always scared the $#!+ out of me. Even to this day. I've been wanting to say that for over 40 years!
