@cshack I love Maharshi and Mouni Sadhu. I have studied and practiced all of their teachings. This teaching, Just be the Self, that is all is true but is easily misunderstood because people imagine they are the bod and the mind. John Lennon's song is wishful thinking and does not lead to the truth. Before one can easily "Just be the Self" one has to remove all that is non self. When Sadhu says to think God is in this person, Realization is only after a lifetime of effort on his part.

The waking state is as unreal as the dream state. The waking state is not the reality. The standard of reality is absolute existence/consciousness/awaren ess (SELF). What is the point in analysing dreams? It is the workings of the mind. Mind is not real. Fans of Lennon as well as the person posting this comment are not real, Only the one Self behind them is real, which is absolute consciousness. This is the direct teachings of Bhagavan Ramana.

It is a great wonder that to teach such a simple truth a number of religions should be necessary, and so many disputes should go on between them as to which is the God-ordained teaching. What a pity!

There is no greater mystery than this: Being Reality ourselves, we seek to gain Reality.

The ultimate truth is so simple; it is nothing more than being in one's natural, original state.
