UFO -Battle of Los Angeles

Grandpa discussing having witnessed one of the most famous mass sightings in UFO history.

When I visited him last in 2006, I asked him if he knew about the incident or saw it. He's almost 90 now but he recalled seeing the craft(s) when it flew over...and in great detail. He even recalled the month in which it occurred before we finally found the date on the internet to confirm it!

After we discussed it a bit, I went and googled up a few articles on the internet and brought the laptop to him as he seemed interested in talking more about it.

Unfortunately, I did not get his discussion on tape. But on that night, he said, at about 2am, the "neighbor kids" came pounding on the door to wake up the neighborhood because they could all hear the gunfire and see the object and search lights. And the electricity had been shut off so everyone thought they were under attack again.
Grandma and grandpa both awoke and went out in the front lawn to watch the object(s) with the neighbors.

He went on to say that they watched it for about 10 or 15 minutes before the object slowly drifted out over the ocean. He is not really interested in UFOs or aliens or whatever. But as he says in the video "we never even dreamed of UFOs in those days". He flew planes for the Navy for a time during the war, so he knows a little about aviation. He just said that he knew it was too slow to be a plane, too big to be a blimp and that the Army fired on it the whole time as it flew over. I asked him what he thought it was and he said that he doesn't think we are alone in the universe....but that's as far as he would go with his beliefs about where this object might have come from.

I wish I had recorded more. The video is kind of short......and I had to speak very loudly because grandpa is half-deaf now. :)
