Shire Network News on Ann Coulter: Jews need to be perfected

"This just in - Ann Coulter is an idiot. That's not Blog News actually, that's our new slogan. We figure we'll be able to say it every week, and it'll still be correct no matter what she's said."

So its hard to miss that Ann Coulter has, once again said something seemingly outrageous, this time about Jews.

Well Ann Coulter is a controversialist, being outrageous is her shtick.

Tom has long said she's an idiot and more or less our side's version of Michael Moore.

Having said that, I don't think the content of her statement was incorrect.

Christians have a specific salvation theology, under which people must believe in Jesus to be saved and enter paradise.

To NOT want people to do that would, by Christian standards, be the ultimate act of hatred because by doing so they will miss out on enternal life.

But having said THAT, do my Christian neighbours go further than knocking on my door on Saturday afternoons, handing me some tracts or having a few cheap TV ads?

No, they do not.

No one is suggesting that if I don't convert, they will set fire to me in the main square, or seize my children to raise them as Christians, or force to to live in abject poverty in iorder to show everyone what happens to people who refuse to believe in Jesus.

Those things all used to happen, and they don't now, ans they are unlikely to be repeated.

Ann was just baiting the interviewer, who was absolutely determined to be offended. She just obliged.

She may well have given a little more ammunition to the ones who do go out and smash graves or daub swasticas, but frankly I don't think they're the regular church going types and they have plenty of ammunition already.

Storm in a teacup, it signifies nothing.

It's amazing that not one person has really pointed out that she absed that belief on a book that's so full of utterly unbelievable stuff that in nay objective world it'd be in the fiction/fantasy section - ppl living in whales, ppl living well past 100 in days of no medicine, ppl being born without conception.
