Thanks for the upload. As a medical student, I study a lot about pertussis but actually seeing it (its very rare in American clinics thanks to DPT) drives home some points.

I'm 39 and have whooping cough. I cough so much that I dont have any air left in my lungs and cant replace it. Its like being suffocated by a pillow minutes at a time. It really hurts in my back from coughing fits. I will have 3 months of this. My daughters who were immunized have only a very mild version. I'm glad they dont have to suffer this with me.

I have whooping cough disease and it's horrible having to watch this video. these children are making that "whopping" noise when they breathe in becasue THEY CANT BREATHE. thats the point. i have it horribly, and i cant breathe when i inhale because my whole throat and chest is congested with mucus. i cant watch this video, because these little babies have no way of telling the doctors that they cant breathe. and THATS how you die. from suffocation.

Wow. This is soooooooooo damn sad . No baby should have to go through this , this is just horrible . And I can't imagine what the parents of these children are going through having to see their children in such agony. How do they actually die of it though, I mean, do they die of exhaustion or do their lungs fill with the thick mucus and they asphyxiate ?

As an RN in Infectious Diseases, we now no longer allow the children to remain upright when they are diagnosed with pertussis, We lay them face down with the head turned to the side to prevent aspiration. Obviously, this video is a little dated

Having said all that, isn't the government all about trying to save money? So why would they tax our money and then waste it on something that doesn't save them or make them money? Vaccines have been shown to have a LOT of clinical benefit. I would strongly urge you to do some research online - by which I mean proper, creditable medical studies rather than websites, pro or anti.
