What a beautiful scene. It deserves to be in the top ten. In my history class, we've been talking about the psychological effect "pressing the button" of bombs and other destructive weapons has on people. John is clearly in anguish, and nothing Aeryn could say could make that pain go away, so she doesn't even try. She's just there for him with such love and understanding. It's wonderful.
