Here are three long playing WIBC jingles from Indianapolis, Indiana

1: They cant afford to do it--A jingle lamenting about how years ago radio stations wouldn't bat an eye about spending good money on well done jingles, but now they don't. Almost prophetic

2. Won't it be Raining

3. Musical Day

  • I LOVE the middle one! So nostalgic. Did you work at the station?

  • @johnnytheC . No, never worked there. I just had a couple friends who had copies and they were kind enough to share

  • You are quite welcome. I appreciate a buddy of mine who sent me the audio so I could share these on YouTube. I hope to get more in the future

  • I'm right there with all of the other comments...particularly the sentiment that I, too, was certain that I would never hear these again. I just love the singing and would like to personally thank the Hugh Heller Singers for the 9-chord at the end of the chorus of the 2nd jingle. Fantastic!

  • John, great stuff here! Thanks for posting, brings back tons of memories!

  • This opens the memory banks full scale! I remember these jingles from when I was a young boy in the 70's living in Indy and Carmel! I thought they were better than the top-40 music they played here and there between news, weather traffic and commercials for Jerry Baker and Pacers Basketball. Thank you so much for posting these! I never thought I'd hear them again. Beautiful arrangements and tight harmonies. Great stuff!

  • Is there any way to get this into a ring tone?

  • Thank you, Thank you. I went to Ball State in the late 60's, early 70's. I have been looking for this music for years. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!
