  • Personally I'd always and try and get the finance separately - you might not be able to negotiate on every car but it's a great skill to practice and you'll never know unless you ask the question! btw if they won t negotiate at least you know that really is the best price!!

  • Pretty hard to save thousands on an $1800 car! But the principal is the same -ie get the best deal you can even if its a tank of petrol or $50 off for cash - only takes 10 secs to ask the question and worse thing that happens is they say no - then you at least know you're getting the best price available- good luck with the mustang cheers Kiaran!

  • @xplat thnx for your comment: Even a private sale involves a salesperson (person selling the vehicle) same principle applies - negotiate for the best deal - Cheers k

Why must one even bother with a salesperson at all?

  • I sell vehicles and I know what this guy is talking about. First of all, salesman are trying to make a living and support families like myself. Between the way business was done in the past and the expansion of the internet has led car dealerships to using cheap tricks because expects them to LOSE MONEY! To lose money means no business, no products for customers, no competition to help keep prices reasonable. Do me a favor ask yourself how much commission should a person make on a $20K-$30K car?

  • can you still get a deal if you are buying a car on payments. Can we still be able to talk the price down or is it only for people who buy a car with cash.

  • I own a small business, and do make thousands on a good day, I also sold new and used cars. The best is to do research on internet for the true cost of the invoice, then find out how much dealer cash is on the car you want. Find a volume dealership who is selling alot of cars. The more they sell, the bigger discount they can give the manufactures give money as bonus to those selling many of the autos. Find your own financing, don't use dealership finance. They will mark up the interest.

  • Great video!!!! ;o)
