Thats not really what I am saying, I am saying that a 3.9 litre engine with only 160bhp is fairly low tuned; even the torque isn't that great.
-
@tpvalley Engine displacement doesn't constitute power.
-
yes because like every car there reading you numbers from the crank not the rw my 02 gt stock pulles 220 rw with my bolt ons i have 260 ans thats dynotune headers full exhaust throttle body
-
a 3.9 should have at least 250bhp?
-
From what I've been told the early '04s had 3.8 V6 engines and the later '04s had 3.9 V6 engines...
-
yes about 7 hp to make it an even 200 at the crank instead of 193 like the 3.8
-
yea i have one of the 2004 and on the hood sticker it says 3.9
-
169 hp at 3rd or 4th gear?
-
In 2004 they added .1 liters. So he correctly labeled it.
-
because the 04 v6 mustangs were 3.9L
I'm assuming thats stock except the exhaust.
Is it normal for there to be a 23 horsepower discrepancy between stock stats from ford and actual dyno results?

that HP is to the wheels. the stock HP is measured at the crank. so 190 HP to the crank and around 163 or so to the wheels stock because of paristhetic loss. so 169 is pretty good for only having exhaust and a CAI with no tune
