Ten years ago, researchers from around the world completed the first map of the 20,000--25,000 genes that make up the human genome, with the hope that it will serve as a stepping stone to additional advances in medicine. In this Children's Channel video podcast, Haynes Robinson, MD, co-director of the D. Gary Benfield Regional Fetal Treatment Center at Akron Children's Hospital, discusses the project and some of the benefits that have already been realized.
