  • I've been dancing for 11 years and i'm 13.I dance modern ballet (ballet jazz). No one can really teach me the pointe. Well she can but she doesn't have the time. Do you think I should start on my own?

  • @Joojo151 If you think your feet are ready and you've done enough exercises to strengthen them then I think go for it! No point waiting when you've got it all right there :) Just start off really slow and do short exercises every day then you can grow until you have someone to teach you the harder exercises x

  • it's obvious your holding on to something. get your arch over your big toe

  • @lmartucci95 hm, erm yeah I don't recall ever denying holding onto anything, kinda replaces a barre. It's OBVIOUS that I am. Points for observation.

  • Next year we are supposed start pointe but my dad is going2 florida nd said he will bring a pair i will use them without instruction is that okay?

  • @balletgyrl2404 Hey, I started pointe by myself and a lot of annoying girls on here will say that you have to have a teacher otherwise you could hurt yourself blah blah blah, but if you know the basics then you can do it by yourself! Watch some videos on youtube of people doing pointe and learn from them! If you need any help when you start send me an inbox :)

  • tuck in ur ribbons!!!!

  • The way there tied looks really stupid:p

  • Makers of Pointe Shoes: Talented craftsmen.

Rule of Thumb: Never go en pointe without a qualified instructor's supervision at all times.

Golden Secret: Be patient and work hard.

Problem with this girl: Could use more turnout and you're slightly off your box.

  • What make are those pointe shoes?

  • @Izziiee121 nooooo do u even do ballet cause anyone who does ballet knows not to teach yourself or do pointe at home without lessons!!

  • @Joojo151 dont ever teach yourself even if you have been doing ballet and your strong enough fo pointe you could ruin your feet or even blow out ur ankles or knees..dont do pointe without lessons!!

  • there not tied right the laces are suposed to be tucked in

  • these shoes do not seem to fit you properly. they haven't been tied properly either. It is vital to be properly fitted after all, what you are doing is not natural for our feet. Do lots of strengthening exercises on demi pointe and with a pilates band. Be careful as damaging a still growing body can have horrible repercussions later on. I am in my 40's and a ballet teacher and would also reccomend a professional teacher as you do not want chronic injuries from dancing incorrectly.

  • I just got my first pointe shoes and I was wondering, and I don't mean to offend you in any way, did you go to a shop to have them fit you or did you order off line? Also, what shoes do you have? I have Bloch suprimas! :D

  • you're not arching enough
