Yes, This Thunderstorm/Tornado Warnining Was SO Scary, Because Im Only 12 And Lived In Beaverton Oregon My Whole Life, And I Was Freaking Out, It Was Insane, I Didnt See Any Tornado Though? But, It Was Very Scary, I Never Seen Anything Like It, So Everyone Who Said He Was "Freaking Out" You Would Too If You Lived In Oregon, Theres Not Much Storms Like This. It Was Insanly Scary.

This one was comparable to some midwestern storms, although this video didn't show what the storm did in other parts of western oregon, as the description says. I'd say this is maybe a 20-30 year thunderstorm for our location.

This is so funny to me because I am from Kansas and was in Hillsboro for a friends wedding. All of us Kansas folks were wondering what the big fuss was all about. We see this kind of activity on a regular/sometimes daily basis here, so we weren't taking it all that serious. Figured out what the big deal was when our friends got off of work and said that this kind of a storm is a rarity in NW Oregon.

From portland to gresham its a half hour drive if taking the max its longer
most people in portland oregon see more than one or two thunderstorms a year - and they are very light ones.

@sassynum12: Well, that's because in Western Oregon, storms of this size are extremely rare - on the order of one maybe every 20 years or so. We don't normally get supercells with reports of tornadoes and severe winds, so yeah, I really hadn't seen one like that, at least not in a long while! :)
