Something cool for RIT. Google has the named the school as a finalist to become one of the first universities to join its Street View Gallery. If selected, Google will send RIT a tricycle, like the one you see here. It has 9 directional cameras mounted on it. It also includes a GPS unit for positioning and laser range scanners. The 'Trike' would cruise around campus and snap photographs providing a continuous stream of 360-degree images that are later organized to create Google's Street View. If you want vote for RIT--its a competition with other campuses--we have a link at 13WHAM.com, just click on the green Find It button. It's a photography school. Yeah, it makes sense. It sure does.
