MEET THE OWNER!
ArizonaPublic was contacted by the owner of "Fresh Donut" of Buckeye, Arizona. Darren asked if we would come and and sit down with him and discuss the current economic impact that the newly opened Dunkin Donuts has had on his business. Darren is very concerned for the future of his donut shop and would like to share his story with the ArizonaPublic viewers.

  • @Silverstack3r hell ya first let me buy everything i need before you torch them

  • in a near future in America , people only will have the choice to choose from Mc donals, Burger , Dunkin , Walgreens Cvs , wallmart , pay less shoes , nothing more ,NO MORE local bussiness is a shame , no delis , no families bakery . bad too bad

  • It's always unfortunate when franchises push out local business' ....however, if his doughnuts were that great, people would be going to his shop. We have a Dunkin and a homemade doughnut shop, and the homemade are WAY better. Only people without a discernrning palate go to the drive-thru Dunkin. The homemade doughnuts are a completely different animal all together. Let's face it, Dunkin is disgusting, and all this kind of food is gross and horrible for you.

  • I know ,I know ,the small guy swallowed up by the corporate giant (who gets all the tax breaks thanks to a corporate lobbyist) on and on. it is sad. And what has any poster here done about it? Support the little guy until a "For rent" sign appears in the biz?If and when the people stand up for themselves it may all turn around. IMHO ,the crash/collapse comes first ,then people may do something. I mean we had ILLEGALS giving some speech in congress and no one does anything.

  • @cpgone Cpgone, you are a moron who FAILED tremendously at seeing the point of this wonderful video which is to SUPPORT your local business. I applaud and thank this man who works so hard to bring out the best in what he offers to the citizens of Phoenix, unlike some companies who have a MONOPOLY on the toilet trained minds such as yourself "Cpgone"! I also thank and give my regards to the YT user ArizonaPublic for highlighting the importance of supporting local business.

  • I hate Dunkin Donuts, but even if I didn't when I have money not very often to splurge I always choose to patronize small local business owners over any corporate business. It's always better, plus I like the people who go there better than the people who only patronize corporate restaurants, which are pre frozen mostly pre made heated up and grilled food that costs a fortune. If I pay more it would be for quality and community loyalty!

  • What a delightful guy! I wonder what sort of attitude you'd get talking to staff at Dunkin Donuts (if you weren't rudely ejected from the premises)... also how their business model of 'make it worse, sell it more expensive' can possibly work. Some kind of hypnosis? Oh yes, of course: TV commercials!

  • I live I So. Calif. I always patronize Mom and Pop stores, like this one. It's so easy to go to the chain stores, but I don't- starve the corporate beast and help thelittle guy like this one!

  • You don't see this type of quality in ANYTHING anymore... I am glad we have a Schoenbergers here in WI... mmmmmmm Local business.

  • @rrrjjjmmm100 what a fag
