Mind blowing song...I am 42 and a huge music fan. Always dismissed the La's as lightweight fluff. Totally incorrect. These are themes that artists STILL do not touch on in 2012. A first person account of a teenage runaway. Unsaid why she's running away, but take a guess, the pain is plain...an abused young chick, and a powerful song. Glad I was wrong about the band.

I dedicate this song to all the people missing esp. the ones on the doe network site. I know not everyone ran away thats on that site. I just pray that everyone is safe and returns home soon. for those who have passed, i hope your family finds you soon and identifies you.God bless you all!

I've always thought that's a great line: "she grew so lonely in the end, angels picked her for their friend." Mary Weiss says that the crying that you hear at the end of the song was real.

I'm 16 and this is one of my favorites songs :) One of my favorite groups :) And I relate so much to this...though don't worry I didn't run away. RIP to the Shangri Las who are gone and live on to the ones still here. They live on always in their music if a 16 year old kid like me is listening! This stuff is sooo cool I LOVE it love them. <3
