One cup of coffee, $1.50
Guy who picked the coffee
Didn't get three
He's stuck in the belly
Of an industry
That doesn't care about people

Working on the hills
On stolen land
Picking at the earth
Through the scuff bare hands
Sweating for the profit of some rich man
Who doesn't care about people

Buy a piece of fruit at the grocery store
Shipped from Guatemala, Chile or El Salvador
Grown by orphan children in the civil war
That was funded by fruit corporations

A global trade system
Riding on the backs
Of families packed in wall-less shacks
Living in the fear of death squad attacks
That are funded by fruit corporations

One pack of t-shirts, $4.50
Girl who sewed the t-shirts
Didn't get three
She's trying to survive in an industry
That doesn't care about people

Bangladesh factories
16-hour shifts
No over-time breaks or benefits
And they'll fire her if she gets pregnant
Because they don't care about people

New York banks watched the Thai Baht grow
Then they took high ammounts in Thai Baht loans
Converted them to dollars when they got back home
And it put millions into poverty

They paid off their debts with U.S. cash
Pocketed the profits
In U.S. banks
And the south east asian market crashed
And it pull millions into poverty

One diamond ring, a few grand
Kid who mined the diamonds lost his hand
As a message from the soldiers who run the land
That are funded by diamond corporations

Wealth arrived through poverty
From the lingering cuts of slavery
In the form of an export economy
Controlled by diamond corporations

Imperialism in its modern form
Debt locked, free market, economic reform
Blowing through the global south like a tropical storm
Tearing at the scenes of culture

From the cluster bomb
To the rifle butt
From the gold mine
To the clear cut
Capitalism's got the world locked up
And it's tearing at the scenes of culture

  • "And a little slavery fact... we can to our senses and abolished it over 100 years ago"

Really? No one owns you? No one has absolute and irresponsible dominion over your life? No one claims the right to rule over you, the right to impose their will upon you, to force you to do their bidding and pay them tribute? If you would answer yes, first I suggest you try not paying "taxes". Or try homesteading a plot of unused land; just set up a garden in a vacant lot, see what happens. You are a slave.

  • juggalo music is also filled with blatant sexism and violence against people.

  • god bless capitalism, thanks chiquita, for bringing peace and stability to the region

  • @anarchismandpunk socialism is no better/worse than capitalism, i want to live on a commune farm, but not cause i'm a socialist, its my preference, i combine the best of anarcho-capitalism and anarcho communism in my critique of modern state corporatism

  • As long as you realize that the only way these bad actor corporations can act badly is through access to the levers of power through payoffs to the government. A true free market punishes bad actors.

  • @Libertarian333 were now economic slaves which is even better for the slave masters because we house and feed ourselves now but were just as much of slaves now as then

  • @ArwenApathy how did juggalos come into this equation

  • Tearing at the SEAMS of culture..not "scenes" ^_^

  • This song is awesome what cd is it on?

  • @Libertarian333

if you do that occupying "unused" land, that's called squatting, or at the worst criminal trespassing, both of which are misdemeanors... almost every scrap of land in the US is either privately owned or government owned and if you don't have permission to live there then you're fucked

so get off your high horse or get permission or be prepared to pay a shit ton in fines

so where do you live? you show us a pic of a selfsufficient log cabin with you outside of it, i might listen

  • @Libertarian333

you'll still pay taxes on that little plot you own,,, that's how they get community gardens evicted in NYC,,, you don't own the land you're gonna get evicted... and even if you do own it, you gotta pay taxes so get off your hihgh horse or go live in the mountains

  • You called "global economy" what it really is! Great.
