Moment of Prop 8 Decision and Civil Disobedience

Video footage taken by Eric Ross and his friend Brandon of the moment of the Prop 8 Decision at the steps of the court building in the San Francisco Civic Center and the ensuing civil disobedience blocking the intersection of Van Ness and Grove for 2-3 hours, including the riot cops approaching and circling the protesters. The video cuts off before the arrests were made.

Ancient civilizations that became nefarious died out. Not all values are equal, nor should they ever be given an equal status. An examination of other cultures shows that there are very serious differences. For example, Islamic nations, morals and teaching (Sharia Law) allow for child brides and the rape of ones own wife or wives; and yes polygamy is the standard. Want your 4 wives anyone? Muslim livings in America are minorities. And whose belief and world view is as passionate as anyones.

The proponents of prop 8 are just ignorant and malicious when it comes to interfering with the rights of gays and lesbians. Prop 8 supporters do not own to the right of the 'proper' definition of marriage. There is NO real proper right to marriage as marriage rights are applied into many different custom and rituals. The idea of marriage cannot be simply known traditionally as a man to a woman.

You are a misguided person with no clear understanding of what it is like to be gay, and you need to learn a few things about who we are, because we don't deserve to be treated like second-class citizens, and we will consistently and persistently push to achieve our equality and continue to prove to the world that there is no real difference between straight and gay people.

leafz15, I feel that you don't understand what homosexuality really is, and that you harbor ignorance, fear and/or hatred towards us that results in someone like you wishing to treat us as second-class people undeserving of respect and dignity. Being gay means you love someone of the same-sex, and that's the only difference between straight and gay people. No matter who you are, you love, and you do everything else in life like everyone else. This kind of hatred is wrong and unjustified.
