  • Great review. Thanks.

I wanted to note that we have revised the camera hole cover. I think you'll love it.

Thanks Dave. Glad to hear you have revised the camera hole cover.

  • Hi I like the notification that you have on the Iphone. in the lock mode. What program is that?

  • @eitanchakov

Its called Lock Info and you have to be jailbroken to use it. Find it in the Cydia app.

  • You put the belt clip on the wrong side. It's not nearly as flimsy if you put it on the correct side, aka the rear of the phone as it's supported along the entire length of the phone in that orientation. I'm still up in the air about keeping this case or going for the Otterbox for the Verizon iPhone4 when it's released.

  • @hpjunkies

I bought the Otter Box also. I am bummed that Otter Box just cut off part of the case near the mute switch to make it compatible with the Verizon iPhone. Kind of looks cheap and they really took the easy way out on it. But it still works great anyway.

  • My back facing camera flap (not FaceTime camera) is IMPOSSIBLE to take out!

  • this is perfect for camping

  • Just be careful not to take off so much otherwise you will have to press extra hard to activate the home button. Since I cut off from underneath, you can’t even tell so no issues. Hope this helps somebody.

  • It is a little easier now to take the flap out also, but still a little bit of a pain (not enough for me to make a difference. My biggest issue with it was the ‘home’ button. The model I have was made with an ‘inny’ vs an ‘outy’ type of home button cover. As a result, I kept activating the ‘voice control’ while in my front pant pocket (while bending for example). The problem is really the home button extension underneath the rubber. so I sliced off a little off from the under side.

  • Just switched to this case from the SPECK Candy shell type. The SPECK brand has not good enough, I dropped my phone at just the right angle and the screen broke. Anyway, I’ve had this new case for about 2 weeks now (Aug 2011). Looks like a couple of modifications may have been made to address the camera flap concern. There is now a grove where you can ‘anchor’ the flap while you are taking pictures. (more in another post)

  • I have the OtterBox Defender, and its great, but I am bored of it.

I see this Griffin Survivor for 21$ on Amazon and placed an order for one today.

No these cases are not pocket friendly but who cares, that is why they have blet clips. Its nice to have a phone that will survive the forthcoming zombie apocalypse. For the price they sell for now on amazon your crazy if you dont buy one. For my workplace I need a tough as nails case, this fits that bill fine.

  • @tborkert I wish I would have read your review before I purchased this. I agree with everything you had to say.

  • OMG that thing is a TANK!!

  • How is typing on it?

  • Another bad thing about this case is taking a pic in the dark! There's a long thing that sticks out above the camera and causes the flash to reflect back into the top left of the pic!
