Many of those that die are in China and that is because they have no problems with opening coal plants every week and nobody else does either. Also gas prices would fall more than just a few cents in addition more jobs would be made and the average of 700 billion a year we spend on forgien oil would be kept within our economy. Oil, natural gas, and coal are going to be used until we use nuclear(the most efficient source) so why should we buy oil from opressive regimes when we have it in the USA.

I dont mind that you drill, its dangerous when you support mass drilling and cheap oil. havent you heard what WHO says? worldwide two million die each year cause of pollution. even in canadian rural areas thousands get sick on lungs. maybe you wouldnt need strong cars like SUVs, if you yanks wouldnt be so obese.

Yes, we bought the Big 'A' trucks/SUVs, but with no other choices.....

In the early years of Bush's admin, the GOV gave tax breaks to those buying BIG 'A' trucks/SUVs over 6k lbs. It was 'suppose' to be to help farmers upgrade their equipment/trans, but it was left open. So, anyone owning a biz was buying them. What does an Accountant/Lawyer/Doc/office type need with a vehicle that big? Big P/Us & SUVs are the biggest guzzlers. How come SUVs are exempt from the CAFE standard?
