Master beekeeper Norm Bantz shows us his honey bee colony (Apis mellifera) in Yonkjers, and the Bronx River Valley Mead maker teaches Dana to do apitherapy. Filmed with the kind assistance of Los Angeles film maker and high school friend du moi (a shout out to University High School in West Los Angeles!) producer and USC Film School graduate Josh Gilbert.
Norm has since passed on. We were so fortunate to meet this great Bronx guy's, and despite his wife's grave illness at the time, Norm was such a gentleman, and surely the greatest beekeeper and meadmaker from here to Cuba!
WE also learn and observe the basics of the hive: winter honey requirements for a colony, (35 lbs. no matter how large the colony.) We watch two females attacking a male - tearing his wings off - because this was autumn, when the males are thrown out to reduce honey needs over the winter and keep the colony warmer. Only the female bees work, (see my First Week with the Bees film for drones at play.) And we watch females returning to the colony laden with pollen.
In apitherapy, the sting of the European honeybee is used to cure ailments from anxiety to arthritis, multiple sclerosis to cancer. Norm has done apitherapy on thousands of people , with only one full-blown allergic response. To be safe, leave the stinger in for just two minutes and remove. Give it ten minutes to see if they go into anapholactic shock (rare), or respiratory arrest. If so, call an ambulance and administer aspirin or a shot of anti-inflammatory. If they are OK, keep stinging 3 - 7 times, leaving the stinger in until it falls out for maximum effect. Apply stings around arthritic joints, on appropriate acupressure points, etc. Consult an apitherapist for best results to learn how to treat yourself or a friend.
Not only do honey and pollen create two of the best and most healing foods we need, but the stings and propylis can become the medicine chest you need for most ailments from colds to excema to cancer!SEe www.wholepropylis.com for more information on propylis and an apitherapy cure story that will blow your socks off. Glenn Perry had a foot amputated and only bee sting therapy was able to heal the wound! And his water-based Brazilian Propylis is amazing.
Honeybees have much more to offer us than honey and propolis, but we will have to save them to find out all of it. So let's do just that! Pressure the government to outlaw untested pesticides, particularly , the use of the Bayer Corporation's neonicotinoid pesticides, (see AgainstBayer.Com and read Fruitless Fall by Rowan Jacobsen to elarn more about Colony Collapse Disorder) reduce monoculture farms of more than 20 acres, outlaw genetically modified foods and drugs, and arrest W!!! And tear off his wings!
To learn more about the history of apitherapy and to help determine if it might help you, please see www.apitherapy.com. The presenter assumes no responsibility for your health, but this folk remedy has helped thousands to recover from serious illness, and it's quite economical, so we wanted to pass it on. Be sure you're not allergic before you try it, and maybe have an epinephrin around just in case, but, wow, it is an amazing and righteous cure! Be a brave warrior for health and economic calm and honeybee freedom and heaven on earth! Hallelulia!
lol, I really would like to try this on my mom and even myself, but how with bee phobia.

@sulivel Buddy, honeybees are the gentlest and most helpful animals God makes! See the Ameican Apitherapy Society site for more evidence of apitherapy's safety. For a first treatment, to see if you're allergic, the stinger is removed after milliseconds, so the danger & pain are minimal. Western medicines kill hundredes of thousands a year. In the 70's Boston physicians went on strike and their death rate went down. LOL! Go with nature; it's meant 4 U! Try EFT to get over fear. It works!

hi iam doctor auday and orthopaedic doctor can you tell me what is the result after this injection
audayhussain2 2 years ago
It was really just a test sting. In a real first treatment, we could used 4 - 12 stings. I did not return for further work with Norm, since he's busy these days and my shoulder still occasionally goes out on me.
I have had good results this autumn curing my own right knee pain with venom therapy just under the patella om either side from my colony in three weekly sessions, about four stings each.
