Wow. This has inspired me, my mrs is buying me skates for xmas. Haven't skated since 1990 but can't wait to get going. We used to have 1 ramp against one wall of our roller disco back then. I might be the oldest at the park now, and i might make a real tit of myself, but am going to the local skate park and go fo it.

i'm just wondering, did you ever take up rollerblading and grinding in your skates?
punkrocker1981 1 year ago
Hi punkrocker1981
I did a bit of blading but it never felt quite right...neither did ice skating....lol. Skiing and boarding on the other hand have quite similar balance, stance & movements so were very EZ 4 me.
I blew my left eardrum SCUBA diving about a year before this vid was shot. It never quite healed and I do regret not having it looked at. It obviously doesn't affect my balance for most sports but if cold air is whistling by or water gets in there, I can't tell up from down.

Do you still live on the North Shore? I try to skate these bowls when I can.

@dcneima I moved to the Okanagan in 81. There are few places worth skating here let alone anything that even comes close to Seylynn skatepark. I envy you being able to frequent Seylynn and Griffin.

i like to see you used quad boots instead of inline skates, proberly best for what you were doing there, you proberly get a balanced landing i'm sure, it seems all people use are inlines now :S

Hi SwayNStagger
Yes, landing tricks on quads can give you that little extra edge over an inline. They both have their advantages depending upon the venue. Myself, I've always just preferred quad.
